I  decided to try different hair products since cutting the perm/relaxer from my hair last weekend. The goal is to make sure that my hair is ultra moisturized, big and curly and healthy.

I started from with a wash using Olive olive shampoo by Pamers, followed by a Shea Butter leave in by Cantu. Next I used Olive oil hair serum and then applied a hair dressing of Indian hemp and lastly Paul Mitchell's skinny line gel.

Although it seems that I used a lot of products on my hair, they are were natural and had ingredients that did leave my hair unfrizzed all night, even after sleeping on my hair on my pillow. When I awoke all curls where still there, light and bouncy, smelled great and it was so easy to run my fingers through them.

In order to achieve maxium height for my curly afro look, all I then needed to do later in the day was gently damp the hair and use a curl defuser attachment on my blow dryer.

It was totally worth using these products. I know of people who use more than that to keep their natural dredlocks or twists looking great, so my list of 5 products is nothing compared to them. The key is using products that will benefit your hair and not dry it out. Most of time people are using too much of styling products (cheap gels, hair spray, etc.) which will leave your hair damaged or flaked by the end of the day.

I am so loving this new cut. Glad I cut the perm out and glad I had my friend cut layers in my hair. With the layers, my curls are everywhere!
